Zumigo, Inc., the award-winning mobile identity intelligence and fraud prevention company, today announced its patented fraud-aware silent authentication for Zumigo Assure Authentication. Banks, fintechs, payment providers and merchants can now verify customers through their mobile phone with no codes and no extra steps, on cellular, Wi-Fi or desktop, while checking in the same moment whether that phone has been swapped, ported or hijacked.

The mobile phone has become the anchor of digital identity. It is where customers log in, approve payments and recover their accounts, which is exactly why fraudsters target it. Silent authentication can confirm that a login comes from the SIM tied to the account. On its own, it cannot tell whether that SIM was moved to a fraudster’s device yesterday. And as generative AI makes faces, voices and documents easier to fake, a phone’s real history on the carrier network is one of the few signals left that a fraudster cannot fabricate.

Zumigo brings both halves together:

  1. Frictionless for real customers. Silent Network Authentication verifies customers on cellular, SIM-Based Authentication verifies them on Wi-Fi, and desktop-to-phone delegated trust lets a customer who starts on a laptop confirm it’s them through their phone. Zumigo chooses the right method automatically from a single integration.

  2. Fraud-aware at the same moment. Each silent check can be returned with real-time phone history: recent SIM swaps, port-outs, call forwarding, number tenure and line type. A phone with a long, steady history sails through. A phone that changed hands last night is flagged before the password reset, new device enrollment or high-value transfer goes through.

  3. Signals the business controls. Zumigo returns clear, explainable signals that plug into existing fraud models and rules. Zumigo sees it; the business decides.

  4. One integration, worldwide. The solution gives businesses one approach across every market they serve.

For fraud teams, that means fewer step-ups and false positives for good customers, and an earlier, harder stop on account takeover at the moments it does the most damage.

“Fraud leaders don’t just need to know the right phone is present. They need to know it’s still in the right hands,” said Harish Manepalli, Chief Technology Officer, Zumigo. “The phone is the anchor of a customer’s digital identity, so we built authentication that is invisible to the real customer and checks whether that anchor has just been cut. AI can fake a face or a voice, but it can’t fake years of a phone’s history on a carrier network.”

Zumigo’s identity verification is used by top 10 global banks, global payment providers and e-commerce platforms. Zumigo holds FIDO2 Server certification and was named Gold winner for Best Real-time Fraud Intelligence Sharing Solution in Juniper Research’s Telco Innovation 2026 Awards.

See it live at Money20/20 USA. Zumigo will run live demo sessions throughout the show, October 18 to 21 in Las Vegas, at booth #7066, showing silent sign-in, SIM-based sign-in and desktop-to-phone delegated trust. A large mobile operator partner will join Zumigo at the booth.
